Now that we have talked about car rental insurance as a whole – let’s go ahead and break it down to the different types of car rental insurance.  Basically, the first type is going to be the one that protects the owner of the car – in this case it would obviously be the car rental company.  The reason for this car insurance is that if you happen to get in a car crash.

The second type of car rental insurance is going to be the one that protects you as an individual.  Say you get in a car crash that you are not at fault for – theft or vandalism included.  This is a car insurance that you need to have – just in case the car is broken into while in your possession is all.  Usually – nowadays require you to have both types of insurance.

Another option for you – you might already be covered via your current car insurance company.  That is something that you need to check on before you purchase both car rental insurance policies.

Why Car Rental Companies Require Insurance

Renting a car in general is something that is a hassle – all of the forms that you have to fill out not to mention the research that you have to put in to find the very best deal and all of the small things that you have to take into consideration.  Your budget is a huge part of renting a car – you have to find a car that is within your budget yet you also want to make sure that you find a rental car that is going to suit all of your needs as well.

Did you know that most rental car insurance companies nowadays are requiring you to purchase some rental insurance as well?  Well – that is just an outrage it seems but if you knew the logic behind the policy, it might seem to make a little more sense.  After all, you want to make sure that you are covered in case something does happen when you are in the car.
