p53 seasonal insuranceYou will not plow a driveway of snow in the middle of summer nor you will mow a lawn when there is no grass growing. This might not concern everyone but if you are an owner of a seasonal business then you have to know that you need a different insurance when it is off-seasson or in-season.

There are commercial insurance providers which offer seasonal insurance for owners of businesses like snowplow drivers, landscrapers, or ice cream trucks. These auto insurance will allow business owners to customize their coverage for months when their businesses are running full blast and for months when it is not.

Here are some helpful tips that you need to know about seasonal auto insurance:

  • If during the off-season your vehicle will just be parked then you might want to consider canceling the insurance of the vehicle for that time. You may still want to protect your vehicle during off season so you can go for a comprehensive-only coverage which will provide basic protection against falling tree branches, hail, theft or vandalism.
  • Getting a comprehensive-only policy during off season also allows you to have a continuous coverage. This is a major concern since most insurance companies will charge you a lot more if you do not have a proof that you have a continuous coverage once the in-season kicks off.
  • If you need to drive your work vehicle during the off season, you can advise your insurance company that you are using it on a personal basis so they can adjust your police to reflect such use.

Off-season or in-season, auto insurance is still very important to have all year round. You can consult a local insurance provider to check on how you can take advantage of seasonal insurance policies for your seasonal business.

In the next blog, we will talk about some of the offenses that will happen if you do just ignore the parking tickets.
